Founder/Principal Erica Kachmarsky, MA is a federally qualified professional (36 CFR 61) in the fields of historic preservation, preservation planning, and architectural history with more than 18 years of experience. She is knowledgeable in American urban, suburban, and rural history, and is experienced in local, state, and federal regulatory environments. Kachmarsky has considerable expertise performing architectural design review, interpreting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards, and preparing historic resource surveys, rehabilitation studies, Historic Structure Reports, and nominations to the National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks programs. Her specialty includes preparing environmental impact assessments, aiding design teams tasked with requirements related to preserving and incorporating historic character-defining features or meeting design guidelines, and rehabilitation tax certification applications. Clients have included the Federal Reserve Bank, the General Services Administration, major film studios, the Hearst Corporation, KOR Group, the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, several state park systems, and municipalities in every region of the United States.  Projects managed by Kachmarsky include large-scale facility development plans for schools and hospitals and mitigation strategies for transportation projects.
